SELF PORTRAIT BROOCH

When I conceived the self-portrait brooch, the first thing that came to my mind was the animal： swallow, whose name has the same pronunciation as my Chinese name. As an international student, I am like a swallow leaving the nest. I designed a movable lever, and the little swallow fixed on it will also move with the rising and setting of the sun and moon. It represents the time difference between me and my family. On the brass embossing, I chose feathers and flowers to symbolize my love for nature. This work does not use any soldering techniques but uses the rivet to connect all parts.
